The Lone Pine Club by Alice Birch

A riotous new play about four young adventurers.

David, Dickie and Mary are starting a journey they will never forget. With their new friend - a girl called Peter - they go off on their own and make a secret camp. They start The Lone Pine Club (which must be a REAL secret particularly from grown-ups who generally spoil EVERYTHING however nice they are). What begins as a game becomes a true test of courage and loyalty as they find themselves tumbling into all sorts of scrapes and adventures.

  • A treat for all ages, including 'proper growed-ups'... Elizabeth Freestone’s spritely production captures the heartiness of the adventures, but injects some delicacy, too”

  • - Lyn Gardner, The Guardian

  • Good-quality traditional storytelling for young audiences... Refreshing. Warm hearted. Uplifting”

  • - Susan Elkin, The Stage

Audience feedback:

  • “Made me cry with delight - it’s genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever seen… Made me want to go adventuring again!”

  • “Incredible show, what theatre should be - story, adventure, excitement, truth.”

  • 'Refilled my heart with adventure'

  • 'Myself and my 8 year old son thouroughly enjoyed it'

  • '1 hour of unabashed joy & unyielding imagination. Took years off me'
